Moyes Out
Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore.
I'm fed up, we can do much better

Re: Moyes Out
Moyes likes to bleat on about the stability he has brought to the club, I suppose he means league positions and European football, forgetting the relegation battle we were in for most of last season of course.

That’s just one side of the story , there is nothing stable or sustainable about our squad at the moment, old , small and in need of
a major overhaul , again.

Re: Moyes Out
Indeed. Fornals, Benrahma, Kehrer out in January and worsened the Squad even more by signing Phillips. I did try to warn people at the time but many people weren't having it. Moyes knew what he was doing, they were all now deadwood to us and Phillips was a fantastic bit of business coming in from 'City Superstars' is all I kept getting told. Righteo.

Re: Moyes Out
Kehrer played in that match too. It’s criminal how we weakened the squad in January.

We don’t deserve a top ten finish.

Re: Moyes Out
Good to see our Loaned out player Benrahma assisting a goal for Lacazette, just before scoring again for himself within the space of 4 minutes in a 3-2 win over Monaco today. Whilst our dopey Dave is seen scratching his head on the touchline yesterday thinking why we have such a small Squad...

Re: Moyes Out
Moyes is a safe pair of hands, I’d say you’re pretty much guaranteed to always have premier league football if he’s in charge
However, it’s not going to be remotely pretty,
For me, there’s enough dullness and monotonous crap in life to watch something I enjoy turn into this as well
I’ve watched every premier league game this season and other than Brentford at home I’ve been bored to tears by our tactics
I’ve lost all excitement about watching us play.
And yes, we’re West Ham and usually we get let down anyway, but this is just a different level of boredom I’ve not seen since Allardyce

“If we'd played Angeball tactics, Liverpool
would've trounced us.”

You mean like when Spurs played Liverpool and beat them 2-1?
Did they not play ‘angeball’ that day?

West Ham 0 Arsenal 6

Spurs 2 Arsenal 3

Which is the humiliation?

Re: Moyes Out
I just copied this from Hammers around the world on Facebook and think it's spot on

Here's a post from a disgruntled Spuds fan at
halftime vs Arsenal (0-3). Before anyone corrects
me, I know we've also been humiliated a few times
this season - after European games - but if you take
yesterdays games vs Liverpool when we had 29%
possession but same shots on target and
importantly, same camount of goals, then he has a
point. If we'd played Angeball tactics, Liverpool
would've trounced us.
This is absolutely ridiculous from Spurs now. Well
on top in the game, a couple of things don't go our
way and then just completely throwing it away. It's
embarrassing and if this is "Angeball" then you
can keep it. Mourinho and Conte may have been
awful to watch, but we didn't get humiliated!"

Re: Moyes Out
Sir Alf 10.16 good post that generally agree with most of it,but you also predicted we would finish 13th with 5 games to go which was laughable
gosse "Streets ahead"...fuck me you are insane
Moyes is a very good manager and unfortunately his system of football is negative but he does get some good results as Nutsin says, that's a fact

Re: Moyes Out
What separates the very top teams, consistently top, is having the right manager. It’s why who comes in needs to be just the right person.

We missed out on Emery but in order to progress to the level above Moyes and importantly retain that level we need someone of his ilk.

Essentially Guardiola and Klopp ruled the roost and now Arsenal have a place on the perch too. Arteta is not everyone’s cup of tea but he is more than repaying Arsenal’s faith in him. I don’t know who we will get in but for me Fonseca seems like, with his experience and tactical ability, the sort of bloke who could do a job. Us fans though will have to be prepared to put up with the bedding in period without getting bitter and twisted like some on here do.

Re: Moyes Out
Streets ahead by qualifying or playing champions league football?

Or by being clear of us in the league with games in hand on us.
Villa are 17 points ahead of us.
Spurs are 11 ahead.

Newcastle beat us, despite them having multiple injuries.
Villa destroyed us at their place.

They are all currently miles ahead of us and we’ve spent half a billion getting there.

Nutsin 10:43 Sun Apr 28
Re: Moyes Out
I’m looking at today’s standings and I disagree with you. City, Liverpool and Arsenal are the elite teams.

Villa, Spurs Newcastle, Chelsea and us are all right there together. We took 4 points off Spurs, had 3 goals disallowed against Villa if memory serves and still drew with them last time out. Drew with Newcastle and had a solid lead at their place, we also turned over Chelsea and Man U…. How can you say they are streets ahead of us?

Re: Moyes Out
Our net spend over the past few years is in line with the likes of villa and Newcastle but they’re streets ahead of us.

And yes Villa sold their best player in Grealish.

Moyes has wasted huge sums on Ings, Scamacca, Aguerd, Mavrapanos, Cornet, Vlasic and Phillips.

He’s spend half a billion to be a mile off the top 6 and no better than Bournemouth and Wolves.

Nutsin 10:18 Sun Apr 28
Re: Moyes Out
Goose I look at it as he is above a billion pound squad of Chelsea and only below the big spenders of City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa, spurs, Newcastle and Man U.

Not too bad considering the money spent on the other squads. Did any of them have to sell their best player? As for 4!years to get it right I think he has done well since his time here. His success in Europe has helped pay towards some of the money spent, so we have had Return on investment. We have a team that can compete with the best when rested.

Must be said that being in Europe helped bringing in some quality players these last couple of years. So I’m thankful to Moyes for that. Yeah, I’ll concede he has made some mistakes and brought in some short term players that were useful when here but were never gonna be long term players but we’re the best available at the time and were to be had at the right price. (Not like we can go out and spend 50 million on a full squad of players now is it.)

So some of the players have served their purposes and we have received our pay back for the success they helped bring. Zouma is one for example. We have had a few windows now where we had to bring in a handful of players, looks like we will do the same again, last time we did it we brought in some real quality, Kudus, Alvarez JWP and correct me if I’m wrong Moyes was here at the time.

So going by the most recent signings what makes you think they can’t do it again? Another succesful transfer window like the last and we’ll be a real handful. Moyes gives us the best opportunity to do well next year, I think he can keep it going and I think we are not too far off.

Re: Moyes Out
Looking at Moyes 4 years , and key data points or stats, it does project a downward trajectory.

Season 1 2019 / 20 (last 15-20 games ) survival 16th
Season 2 2020/21 6th Europa qualification
Season 3 2021/22 7th Conference
Season 4 2022/23 14th Won Conference
Season 5 2023/24 12th or 13th no europe

Spend on players over the tenure = Half a billion?
Squad development and useable assets = 10 quality players with 4 out of contract

His first 2 full seasons you have to concede were good from where we were.

The Conference cup wins then masked an overall downward trajectory and the question, putting aside entertainment style, is whether Moyes can reverse the trend? Maybe but his squad management does seem a real weakness? Not giving players any or next to no minutes for reasons unknown. No development squad members used aside from Mubama when injuries arguably forced the issue. Ok didnt cut it but the only development player to be given a chance.

Then there is the brand of football Moyes employs. No other team across the globe that wins competitions plays this way and any that do don’t appear to win anything? Roma were perhaps the last to do so before us winning the conference the year before.

So can Moyes with further investment, get us back in and around the top 6, competing n multiple fronts with the requisite larger squad? Evidence last 2 years suggests not and we will need to improve league standing to get into Europe but are going in the opposite direction.

In summary, good first 2 years followed by decline 2 years despite high point of a cup win.

In any industry, a replacement would likely be sought especially if the manager was being paid an exceedingly high salary.

Nutsin wants to give him more time and possibly doesnt want to take the risk of change. He might be proved right but it seems highly unlikely based on the data assuming we put enough due dilligence into selecting his replacement.

But Nutsin is entitled to his view nonetheless. As there is undoubtedly a risk with making a change. The scars of Pellegrini run too deep f for some.

But we have stagnated, are in a rut and its time to take that risk imho

Re: Moyes Out
Half a billion putting together a squad that is 1 point ahead of Bournemouth and 2 points ahead of Wolves.

A squad that lost 20 league games last season, has barely won since the turn of the year and has a goal difference worse than Bournemouth, wolves, Brighton, Brentford and Fulham.

Re: Moyes Out
When did I say i want that to be true ?

lol

It’s not just this January is it mate.

He doesn’t use a squad when he has one anyway.

He’s been here 4 years , if the squad is too poor to use , that’s pretty much on him now. Stop making excuses .

What’s the problem throwing in youth players since by your admission we are having a great season ?

They are by all accounts one of the better groups in the country right now. And we are not in a relegation battle. If not now when??
